After another 4th of July with too many kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews and dogs my wife decided that we absolutely needed our own place. Mallory and Pat did more than just stick us on an email list. They showed us houses in Charlevoix, Petoskey and Boyne City and kept us informed about any changes in the markets.
Because of their deep ties to their towns we were able to see the place we ended up buying a day or two before it was actually listed. Even after we bought the house Mallory was so helpful with the closing and getting utilities settled.
Their honesty and integrity is beyond reproach and they never forget that they are working for you.

Sometimes selling a property requires a lot of unanticipated resources. Many different opinions went into the sale of our home. It was important than when we are ready to go things needed to get done in a timely manner. The Pat Obrien team was remarkable helping us get through this process. they helped us with contractors. My family has owned a cabin on the south arm of Lake Charlevoix for the better part of 75 years. My father and father were both born and raised in East Jordan. They built the cabin in the early 1960's and mom and dad handed it down when they passed away several years ago. The cabin was our extended family's heart and soul growing up. Our grandparents raised their families there from the early 1900's and before. I grew up picking cherries for school clothes money as did all our cousins, spending summers swimming in the lake to get rinse off the cherry juice, getting to Charlevoix for Venetian Night, fudge, sweatshirts, Ironton Ferry, the Sportsman's park, swans, deer, and on and on. The decision to sell the cabin was a difficult and painful one for myself and my siblings but it was time to pass it on. We chose Pat O'Brien to list the property and we are so fortunate that we did. Pat handled the delicate situation with great sensitivity, never pressuring and supporting us in the process and tolerating our occasional ambivalence. At times it was a complicated sale given there were easement issues, a dip in the economy shortly after the listing. Pat has a "easy going" personality at the same time determined, knowledgable, experienced, connected and skillfull. Pat answers the phone promptly when you call. He has excellent support staff ie. Mallory who stood in for him on the few times he was unavailable. We closed the sale in recent weeks and looking back we are all so appreciative of all his hard work. While my siblings live in Michigan, I moved to California years ago after medical school and have worked with real estate agents in the Northern California area for 30 years. My exceptional experience with Pat O'Brien surpassed other similar transactions.

Mallory was our buyer's agent for a house we just bought in Central Lake. She was so very helpful during the process and went above and beyond every day for us.
