About Mary Katherine

Mary Katherine King is a native of central Virginia and a UVA alum with a degree in Civil Engineering. Her passion for real estate was forged early in her professional career with formative roles as a Residential Construction Manager and a Community Association Manager. Aiming to build on this foundation, she started selling real estate full-time in 2014 after getting licensed in 2009, and proudly obtained a Broker’s License in 2022. Recently, she was the Top Producer for the Long & Foster Old Ivy Office (2020, 2021) and recipient of the Charlottesville Area Association of REALTORS Salesperson of the Year Award (2020). She enjoys volunteering within the local and state REALTOR® associations and is a past member of the Charlottesville Area Association of REALTORS® (CAAR) Board of Directors.

Her deep roots in Charlottesville are best exemplified by her active participation in several community outreach initiatives and local boards. Beyond her time spent volunteering with CAAR, she also has dedicated time annually with the Shelter for Help in Emergency and regularly with the Albemarle Housing Improvement Program (AHIP). She is the current Chair of the Albemarle County 5thand Avon Community Advisory Committee and serves as her neighborhood HOA president. MK is a current board member for the CAAR Foundation, the state communications leader for the Residential Real Estate Council and a member of the Monticello Cabinet.
She enjoys cheering on all UVA sports teams, the occasional round of golf, checking destinations off her travel bucket list, board game nights with friends, exploring the Charlottesville restaurant scene and, of course, attempting to keep up with her beautiful and spirited daughters.
