Mary Shelkey

Mary Shelkey has been licensed since 2008. She worked for a large corporation for the first 5 years of her career before opening her own brokerage, Hometown Realty, real estate agent Bismarck ND in 2013.

As the owner and broker of Hometown Realty, real estate agent Bismarck ND she continues to put her clients above all else. Mary has worked with many buyers and sellers throughout her career and continues to be a selling broker.

From 2013- 2022 Mary managed several agents under her and had a brokerage in Minot and Bismarck ND. Her agents had the same professionalism and ethical values and the clients we served in those years showed that. She spent MANY hours training them to care more about the clients that we served than the income we’d receive from a sale. Our motto was that if you did a good job in helping your clients, your reward was getting paid. So in essence, we got paid for doing something we love!

Also in those years, Mary served on the Bismarck Mandan Board of Realtors from 2012-2019. She served on the Board of Directors from 2012-2015 and then moved to the Executive Board where she moved her way up to President in 2018.

In addition to serving on the Board of Directors, she served on many committees to include, RPAC (Realtor Political Action Committee), Professional Development, Government Affairs, Ethics Panels, Backpack Program, Ringing Bells for Salvation Army during the Christmas season, the United Way Day of Caring, and many others. As President of Bismarck Mandan Board of Realtors, Mary was able to step in and attend some training sessions for the MLS (Multiple Listing Service) due to the CEO not being able to attend that year. During her Presidential year, she spearheaded the conversion from one MLS provider to the current MLS provider that we continue to use today.
Mary was awarded the Realtor of The Year award for the Bismarck Mandan Board of Realtors in 2019 for her commitment to her profession and her clients.
Mary also served on NDAR (North Dakota Association of Realtors) by serving on committees such as RPAC, Government Affairs, Professional Development and Ethics Panel. She also served on the NDAR Board of Directors and then moved her way up and served as NDAR President in 2021. She also attended many State Conventions that we share with South Dakota.
In addition Mary served on NAR (National Association of Realtors) committees and also attended the NDAR Legislative Meetings in Washington DC several years in a row as well as attending the NAR Conventions in many different locations around the country. She also had the privilege of attending a national RPAC meeting in Texas.
