About Mary
Mary Slattery simply loves being of service to people. There's just no other way to say it. Knowing that her efforts can make a difference in someone's life is all the reward she needs for working hard on her clientele's behalf when finding or selling a home.
Born in Springfield, Missouri and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Mary earned a BA in Theatre and Philosophy at Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York and headed directly to New York City the minute she graduated to pursue a career as an actress. In the Big Apple, she enjoyed success off-Broadway, on soaps, in television and radio commercials and as a spokesperson in industrial films.
Mary soon found her way behind the scenes as well working as a producer of corporate industrial shows and television talk shows.
Ten years ago, Mary started splitting her time between Manhattan and the Hamptons. Her love of the East End grew, and she made the decision to plant permanent roots out East in 2000. Mary's innate service orientation led her to work in fundraising and special events for such fine East End charities as The Parrish Art Museum, Southampton Cultural Center, Southampton Fresh Air Home, Southampton Hospital, and ultimately as Director of Development for The Retreat in East Hampton.
With her interpersonal savvy, market knowledge and widespread connections, Mary's entry into real estate came quite naturally. Today, she strives for solid working partnerships with fellow East End real estate agents, who share her belief in the value of team coverage and implementation of strong public relations and marketing skills to best serve their clients and customers.
Believing wholeheartedly that all success is based on relationships, and that the best way to find and maintain those relationships is involvement in one's community, Mary is proud of her participation and support of area causes including Have A Heart Community Trust, The Parrish Art Museum and Southampton Youth Services, Inc. She is especially proud to serve on the Executive Committee of Corcoran Cares.
Mary resides in Water Mill with her AKC champion English Cocker Spaniels, also enjoys sailing, motorcycling, rollerblading, theater and film and the serenity of the beach.
