Sam was a fantastic agent and when it comes to time to buy our next house he will be the very first call. Here are some details: 1) Professionalism. So few real-estate agents take the time to understand your needs and perform the prep work prior to actually meeting you. Sam was perfect on both counts. Prior to visiting homes, he would send over a detailed schedule of the properties. This was immensely helpful as I travel extensively and this allowed us to be as efficient as possible. Moreover, he was always very accommodating of our choice on properties rather than pushing something. 2) Negotiation skills. Sam was our trusted adviser. If there was anything that we needed help with Sam came through. This was especially apparent with his negotiation skills. Without him I can honestly say that we would not have been able to get this property. 3) Expertise. I feel like there is no one in Chicago that Sam does not know. He knew all the real estate agents, all the loan officers, all the right people to make our dream house a reality. We probably had the most competent team that could possibly be assembled and, moreover, some of the nicest people too. This made the home buying process a positive experience. I wish tree was a character limit because I could write a novel about how great Sam is. From start to finish, he went above and beyond. The same is true about everyone he recommended to help ease the purchase process. If I had last minute questions for him, the mortgage broker, or lawyer, they would respond the same day, even at 11pm. I can't imagine having a faster or smoother purchase with anyone else. And he never tried to sell me on something. He let me take as much time as I needed, and once I made up my mind, he GOT STUFF DONE. What can I say other than Sam is truly the best. Thanks to a refferal, we used Sam to buy our first home and our experience was fantastic. We felt immediately that Sam had our best interest at heart, he listented to us and what we wanted and also offered very valuable advice when we needed it. He helped save us from ourselves a few times as well (ie wanting to compromise on things we shouldn't, buying a place that wasn't sustainable for us and our family goals)! He has a big picture perspective which is very important when you are buying your new home and are anxious about details. Sam has very strong relationships which was evident when we went to see properties--Sam knows everyone! This was huge benefit for us, as he was often the first to know about properites coming on the market...we ended up buying a place that was never even listed thanks to Sam! Sam was extremely professional throughout the entire process--even coming to a showing at our condo in 100 degree weather in a jacket! He navigated our complex foreclosure purchase expertly, finessing the negotiating process perfectly and saving us from over bidding--even though they had multiple offers. The banks realtor even said that she had never seen a more professionally put together offer. He gave her exactly what she needed efficiently in order for her to present to the bank and get us the home of our dreams. He has years of experience in the market, is knowledgeable about the different areas of Chicago, and recommended a top notch inspector, attorney and contractor. He's the best and works with the best. Sam was great -- patient, knowledgeable, and really good at what he does. As a first time homebuyer I had no idea what I was doing from the start, but Sam explained the whole process every step of the way. He had a lot of great insights on neighborhoods, home features/prices, and things to look for/watch out for. He was incredibly responsive, especially in the stressful offer/negotiation process. Sam was very helpful and patient in our home search. We were new to the city and had only a basic idea in mind of what we wanted in a home when we first spoke to him. Sam showed us a variety of options that helped narrow the search down. He took the time to explain a lot of things about the market and pros and cons of different options and neighborhoods. We then were able to focus in on some particular types of homes that fell within our budget and other requirements. He didn't exert pressure on us to bid before we were completely comfortable, even though we'd been out several times and had seen a lot of properties. Ultimately, we found a perfect home and Sam's expertise and negotiating skills helped us win a bidding war among 3 other potential buyers.
