About Serena
Serena Boardman is a graduate of the Chapin School, Brooks School, and Brown University, where she majored in Art History and Political Science.
Before she began her career in real estate, Serena was employed at Sotheby’s Auction House in the European and English Furniture Departments and then at LuxuryFinder.com.
Serena started with Sotheby’s International Realty in 2001. Since that time, she has sold in excess of $4 billion dollars of property and has consistently been ranked as a top producer. The Wall Street Journal has ranked Serena as the number one broker in the United States by sales volume and she is currently the highest-producing Sotheby’s International Realty broker.
Serena works in the co-op, condominium, and townhouse markets both on the Upper East Side, Upper West Side and Downtown. Focusing on the sale of top-tier properties, Serena’s career highlights include achieving two record price sales of $48 million and $33 million for Fifth Avenue pre-war cooperatives and the sale of a landmark Park Avenue townhouse for $31.5 million. In each of these transactions, Serena represented both the buyer and the seller.
In 2014, Serena set the sales record for a New York City cooperative apartment by selling the Penthouse at 960 Fifth Avenue for $70 million. Two months later, she surpassed this new record by representing both the buyer and the seller of a high floor apartment at 740 Park Avenue, which closed for $71.3 million. Since then, she set a new record by selling an apartment at 834 Fifth Avenue for $77.5 million in a transaction where she represented both the buyer and the seller. Serena has also represented sellers of two spectacular Fifth Avenue and Park Avenue penthouse apartments, achieving $40 million and $39 million selling prices without formally listing either apartment on the market.
In addition to these major sales, much of Serena’s time is dedicated to selling properties in a variety of price ranges. In fact, the majority of Serena’s sales are in the $5M to $15M range, where the market is most active. Serena enjoys working with a variety of American and international clients from the financial, media, entertainment, and real estate worlds. She is enthusiastic, hardworking, and discreet and is well-known as a keen architectural devotee.
In addition to her work, Serena is also very committed to supporting a number of city-based charitable institutions including New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center and the Boys and Girls Club of New York. Serena also serves on the Board of the Municipal Arts Society.
