When Tim first saw what was to become the Wintergreen community he was overwhelmed with its incredible natural beauty and also how carefully and environmentally conscious it was to be developed. As a young man, Tim has hunted and fished and hiked in the mountains and valleys of Nelson and Augusta County, so he knew the area. Tim witnessed the early roads being built to Wintergreen and Stoney Creek in the summer of 1974 and he was so impressed with its potential that Tim left a great career in Washington, D.C. and never looked back. Tim has been fortunate to work in one of the most beautiful and tranquil places in the world. Tim looks forward every morning to meeting people and learning about their goals and dreams, then helping them achieve it. While they are making a living, he helps them make a life. On a personal note, Tim grew up on a cattle farm in neighboring Albemarle and Louisa Counties, and his family has lived in Virginia since colonial times. Tim is the oldest of five and was educated at the Blue Ridge School in St. George, Va. and the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University.
Tim married the love of his life, Judy Mather from Ligonier, PA., who was the social director at the Greenbrier Hotel when they met. They are blessed with two sons, Will, a graduate of Villanova University and John, from the University of Virginia. Will and John are now married. John and Taylor blessed Time and his wife with Quinn and Charlie. Will and Stephanie have Amelia, Jack, and Wesley due in the spring of 2023. Their family loves fly-fishing, golf, skiing, hiking, gardening, biking, hunting, and off-road sports. Wintergreen has been the perfect place for them, as he hopes it will be for you. What is especially exciting for Tim and Judy is to see how their little grandchildren now also love this community.
