Vern McHargue

Vern is used to moving and adjusting to new homes and neighborhoods. Before graduating from college he lived in eleven different homes across eight states, and has lived in three more during his thirty-one years in Virginia. The experience of moving to and from fourteen different homes taught him to adjust to change and helps him better relate to and serve his clients.

As your agent, Vern uses his depth of negotiating, finance and sales experience to ensure a smooth, reliable and pleasant real estate transaction. He has extensive experience negotiating large contracts and has worked on a variety of commercial and residential real estate projects throughout his career, including complicated financing structures. Unlike many other real estate agents, he has been responsible for over $3 billion in audited financial transactions.

Before launching his successful real estate business, Vern spent more than twenty years serving as a financial executive for several large organizations. In addition to his MBA from Marymount University and BS degree from Oklahoma State University, he holds a personal financial planning certificate through the College for Financial Planning and two executive leadership certificates from the Wharton Business School. He’s also past vice president, treasurer and ambassador of the Realtor Association of Prince William County, chairman of the Youth for Tomorrow Foundation, past president of Youth for Tomorrow and is member of the St. Andrews Society of Washington, DC, Sons of the American Revolution, and Delta Epsilon Sigma, the national scholastic honor society. Vern lives in Virginia with his wife and four sons.
