After high school, feeling it necessary to serve his country, Yancy fulfilled this military obligation as an electronics technician with the Air Force. Attached to Vandenburg Strategic Air Command, he distinguished himself twice with accommodation awards and received an honorable discharge. After military service, during his collegiate-athletic career at Santa Barbara City College, he helped his tennis team win conference titles and lives by a motto his tennis coach would often say, "tennis for life".

After those glory days, he continued enjoying tennis, while being a successful restaurant manager/maître d' at some of the very best restaurants from Santa Barbara to La Quinta and Rancho Mirage, California. It was during these years he developed outstanding service skills, serving such notable personalities as Robert Mitchum, Fess Parker, the Pointer Sisters, the Moody Blues, Clint Eastwood, Sonny and Cher, and his all-time favorite, Patrick MacNee of the Avengers.

As a son of Maryland educators, Yancy picked up on the heritage of professionalism his parents modeled and coupled it with his own rich experiences, and started delivering exceptional service immediately as he started his real estate career in Palm Desert, California, in 2003 with Coldwell Banker. From the beginning, he has consistently achieved awards, from annual Multi-Million Dollar Sales awards to the most recent 2018 International Sterling Society for exceptional performance.

He remembers a formidable quote from John F. Kennedy during his 1961 Presidential Inaugural address: "ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country." And so, Yancy can be found off the beaten track every Monday morning during the school year, helping children, kindergarten through 4th grade, improve their reading, writing and comprehension skills, by participating in a program of higher learning called H.O.S.T.S.

He's also found discharging his responsibility as a board member of the local nonprofit organization Santa Fe Need and Deed, which is dedicated to helping the homeless and rescuing the near homeless from homelessness, sponsors men to stay sober and recover from drug and alcohol addiction. His community involvement reflects superior dedication, makes 20% charitable gifts out of every transaction, flyes plays tennis and skies.
