The smallest of three public elementary schools in Akron’s Kenmore neighborhood, Pfeiffer Elementary serves students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The school’s historic campus is conveniently located in the heart of Kenmore’s numbered streets, just off Kenmore Boulevard. With just over 200 students enrolled, Pfeiffer offers a range of academic and extracurricular programs for students. Full-time art and music therapy, instrumental instruction, after-school tutoring and academic programs are available to all Pfeiffer students. All enrolled students receive free breakfast and lunch, as well as a free Chromebook. Pfeiffer scored relatively low on the most recent Ohio State Report Card compared to the other elementary school in the neighborhood. Still, it boasts a well-qualified staff who have an average of 22 years of experience. Over half of all Pfeiffer teachers have a master’s degree, and its students boast an attendance rate of over 91 percent. The school was named after local rubber pioneers Jacob and William Pfeiffer, who founded the Miller Rubber Co., which was eventually sold to B.F. Goodrich. https://reportcard.education.ohio.gov/school/029801 https://cdn5-ss14.sharpschool.com/UserFiles/Servers/Server_431141/File/About/APS-SchoolProfiles-Pfeiffer_print.pdf https://pfeiffer.akronschools.com/about_us
