Seiberling Community Learning Center is one of three Akron Public elementary schools serving kids who live in the Goodyear Heights neighborhood. With students in kindergarten through sixth grade, it has a total enrollment of around 470 students. While the school originally opened in 1919, it was rebuilt, and its students now enjoy a new campus that opened in 2014. It’s named after Frank and Charles Seiberling, the founders of the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. Although Seiberling scores low on the achievement component of the Ohio State Report Card, it ranks high in progress, which measures student growth based on past performance, and gap closing, which measures performance expectations for vulnerable students. Additionally, 78% of Seiberling’s teachers, with an average of 19 years of experience, hold a master’s degree. On top of academics, Seiberling offers a variety of extracurricular activities and programs for students, including after-school tutoring, band, orchestra, and sports programs such as volleyball and basketball. All students receive a free Chromebook and have access to free breakfast and lunch daily at the school.

I had two boys attend Seiberling for 3 years. We had a very positive experience. The teachers were all very professional, communicative and showed a real interest in our children. The school is very nice and clean. I highly recommend this school.

All of my children have attended Seiberling Elementary and I would recommend this school. My youngest just completed kindergarten and loves her school.

We just moved from a very small community out of state, my daughter was very home sick at first. The staff and students have done a fantastic job at making her feel welcomed and at ease. Thanks everyone keep up the good work!
