The school itself is really good but sometimes there aren't standards being met that should be getting met.

I have enjoyed my experience at West Anchorage High School so far. There are many higher level class opportunities as many AP and IB courses are offered. The IB diploma program also provides students with opportunities to pursue education at top universities after high school. Some of the teaching and counseling staff are unfriendly and I have had several bad encounters with the tech. workers at our school.

West is a beautiful community with lots of programs that I have been able to thrive and accelerate in. I have amazing teachers and a supportive group of councilors. In my opinion West is the best school in Alaska.

I live in the Service neighborhood area, but I chose to go to West High for a reason. I am currently a 9th grader. West has the best students in Alaska by a landslide.
