GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I wish that the food could be better and that there would be less smoking and vaping on campus there are too many people who don't care to be there and always hog the bathrooms to smoke and do drugs. I also remember that there was a decapitated cat head on campus that everyone was talking about and had pictures of which is horrible that it happened but why was it even still there on campus when people arrived at school? The teachers are pretty okay but I have heard from lots of people that the teachers suck and that they don't help you like a teacher should.

I really enjoy being at Arcata High School. For being located in a rural area, the school and its administration works very hard to provide its students with resources. The worst part of my experience is that we no longer have a Career and College Counselor which will make college applications slightly harder in my senior year. I hope that the school can bring in someone to help us out. I really enjoy the sciences teachers and classes at the school and there are many amazing clubs available.

Overall I like it. I've had some bad experiences with teachers but also some good ones. There are a good amount of resources for students and I think that the overall school culture is good.
