As a parent of a high schooler and having spent a decade at another area private school, CDS is far superior in terms of providing a collaborative learning environment between hard-working students and engaging, professional faculty and staff. We've experienced a generally healthy and progressive social environment and academically rigorous expectations with lots of resources and individual support.

it is so tiny which only causes you to have limited amount of friends, everyone there brags about their money and is just straight up rude. I've been at this school for 10 years and there isn't one day that I regret not switching schools. the teachers are also very mean, and they yell at you for not being a perfect student. especially if you have an older sibling, they want you to be carbon copies of them. its the worst school I've ever been to

Top tier teachers who care about you as a person and who want to help you. The building and area inside is amazing, the schedule that they made for students both helps them learn and also decompress at the same time, as well as the amount of time that the teachers spend during their own time to help the student succede.

Complete waste of $. Tuition is beyond ridiculous. $64000 for two high schoolers, that is more than tuition at UNC Chapel Hill (also admittedly not worth it).This year, there are 37+ days off, early dismissals, teacher "work" days, half days out of 7 months....really absurd.Teachers are excellent, a...
