GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Ashland High School's been a joy to learn at. It's by no means a perfect school but if you have the right kind of teacher who's really there to teach you the subject, then you WILL learn what you need to learn. Has done very well to communicate with its seniors in particular the different steps they need to take to obtain scholarships they'll need.

I like the accepting and cohesive feeling, but there are a lot of issues that the school glosses over. The campus is not anywhere close to ideal, and some of the buildings I doubt are up to code. There are good resources and great electives to choose from.

The lack of diversity (If you look at one of the slides at the main page you just happen to see all the diversity the school offers also the just happen to get all the minorities in one photo) and the way funding is spent is quite disappointing. Most of the teachers are great but of course, there are teachers that favor other students if you don't work the way they want you to. Don't get me started with the bathrooms that lack doors on the toilet stall.

I wish zero was an option. We originally sent all three of our children to Ashland High School. Our son graduated in 2020 and his experience was okay. In fact back when he was a freshman or sophomore I felt proud to say he attended AHS. My husband and I have been big supporters of Ashland Schools fo...

Kids with learning disabilities or that need adjustments to curriculum, seem to not be considered much. It's a one size fits all method of teaching, and some kids are certain to fall through the cracks. It seems like a lot of the teachers and office staff can't be bothered with the needs of their st...

When deciding to move to Ashland, I did lots of research on the schools. At that time their schools seemed good but since moving here, they have failed many students.

I hate it. Unfortunately, it's the best option we have. Ashland has some nice ideals, but it is also pretentious and snobbish. Big fish in a little pond. Some really bright kids can do well there, and if your teen is heavily into the Dramatic Arts, it's a great school to launch their career.
