A kindergarten to 12th public charter school accommodating just over 1000 students yet maintaining smaller classroom sizes than the national average, GLOBE Academy Charter School is one of the top education options for Briarcliff residents and one of only three Georgian schools to receive special accreditation by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. GLOBE is a fifty-fifty Dual Language Immersion school where half of lessons are taught in English while the other half is delivered in a foreign language, with options for Spanish, French and Mandarin. GLOBE middle school students attend lectures from guest speakers, performances from artists on tour, museum field trips, and even a Space Camp overnight trip. The school also provides differentiated learning for gifted students, allowing them to excel while still in the same classroom as their peers. After school clubs include chess, dance, crossfit, and filmmaking, while middle school students can play on official school sports teams including soccer, basketball, volleyball, track and field, and cheerleading.

I am not sure what Globe used to be, but I can say that it is not the same as it had been nearly 8 years ago. I have kids on two different ends of the neurodivergence spectrum--one who is gifted and the other who has ADHD and finds learning difficult. I fear that Globe has been detrimental to both of them. My gifted student is not pushed or challenged--when I asked about this, I was told that he simply would not be taught above grade level because that wasn't what they do at Globe. It took years for anyone to recognize that my other student was struggling with information retention and had ADHD. I had to PUSH hard for her to be tested. Overall, I am disappointed. The kids themselves and families are amazing and this is what has kept us there for as long as we have.

I sent my kids to this school one of them very smart and gifted, and the other not so gifted. The gifted one went there for 3.5 years and the reason why is because he was getting death threats from many students and one parent because he asked a question. This school is absolutely terrible and would...

I removed my daughter from this school last year and couldn’t be happier that we made the move to switch schools. Once we moved to the new school I realized how behind my daughter was for her grade level. Be aware that the language teachers do not have to be certified and in my experience some of th...

We had two children at this school. One is gifted and one has learning challenges. While some individual teachers were wonderful on working with IEPs, the administration here is outright defiant of accommodating students with any type of challenge, even a mild one. If your student is struggling, I’d...

The Globa Academy is a marvelous school offering full dual language immersion in Spanish, French, or Mandarin between K-5th grade. It celebrates students of different cultures and backgrounds. The teachers love the students and support them through the challenge of learning science and math in a non...
