Austin Jewish Academy

Private Elementary, Middle School | Grade K-8
7300 Hart Ln,  Austin, TX
4.1
Located on the 40-acre campus of the Dell Jewish Community Center, the “hub of Jewish life in Central Texas,” the Austin Jewish Academy in Northwest Hills is a leading provider of K-8 Jewish education in Austin. Though Jewish values and traditions are central to school culture, the school welcomes non-Jews as well as Jews from observance levels across the spectrum. Kosher lunch options and tuition assistance are available and school holidays follow the Jewish calendar. Three pillars make up the core learning experience at Austin Jewish Academy: hands-on projects, social-emotional learning, and Jewish Studies. All students study Hebrew. The academy partners with Project Lead the Way, a national problem-solving curriculum that encourages students to work through real-world scenarios using science, engineering, and design skills. Small class sizes guarantees individualized instruction. The campus is home to a number of amenities, including a pool, a theater, art studios, greenhouse and a chicken coop. School athletes—known as lions—can begin participating in all the major competitive sports in fourth grade. In 2020, the school introduced “Outdoor Academy” as a response to Covid-19 and this flex outside classroom space has remained a popular feature with both students and teachers. Eighth grade students recently made their first school-sponsored trip to Israel. Graduates go on to Austin’s best private and public high schools, including the Liberal Arts and Science Academy and McCallum. Austin Jewish Academy is a compelling choice for those who value a strong sense of community and a commitment to timeless Jewish values which extend beyond the Jewish Studies classroom.

I was a student at AJA for 8 years, from 1st through 8th grade, and I wouldn't trade my experience for anything. It gave me the strong Jewish identity I have today, life long friends, and set the bar for the rest of my life. I graduated valedictorian in college and now manage a team of music experts...
