GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

There's a very rigorous academic focus, but that means that basically, nobody has time to cause trouble. It's a good environment with many supportive peers and staff and no safety issues overall. The campus is pretty run down, and the AC is not always functional. There are also a lot of leaks in the ceilings and asbestos closets, but it could be worse. Overall better than a zoned school.

I have had a great experience and have came to LASA for better education and better opportunity. One reason why I came here was also because I had heard that there was a better chance at getting into UT Austin so I wanted to enroll the best school for the best education. My goal was to get to UT from Lasa and then find financial Aid such as scholarships to help with my journey. I have been wanting to get to UT or any collage in general to make my parents proud as they did not have a chance to go to collage. Scholarships such as these would really help my accomplish my dream. Not only would it be a big accomplishment for me, it would also make my parents proud and make them feel like they gave me the best life possible.

It is a very advanced school and because of that the workload is pretty heavy, and you are expected to take a lot of honors classes, and AP classes. However, there are some amazing classes that are available to you, such as forensic science or biotechnology.

SPECIAL EDUCATION: This school does a great job at pretending like they care about their students' mental health when they simply don't. At the start of junior year I was diagnosed with ADHD + others (anxiety, etc) , & on my diagnosis paper, it states that extra time would be beneficial. I have cont...

My child is a graduate of LASA. For kids and parents considering this school, I wanted to pass on these statements that teachers at LASA told my child, who has dyslexia, when my child asked those teachers to follow legally required accommodations related to their dyslexia, which were accommodations...

We feel so fortunate that both of our children have been able to attend LASA. As many have noted, students graduate with an education level equivalent to an undergraduate degree, and they often go on to find freshman year of college "too easy." However, LASA is not only an academic powerhouse; it's...

LASA has been exactly what our child needs. It’s filled with dedicated teachers and staff and curious, driven, hard working kids. We regularly say we can’t believe it’s real. Our LASA student has a 504 and they’ve been well supported.
