Founded in 1981, Purple Sage Elementary School is a public elementary school located in the Anderson Mill neighborhood of Austin and is a member of the Round Rock Independent School District. Purple Sage has an enrollment of roughly 500 students from kindergarten to fifth grade. Purple Sage seeks to empower success by building a community that provides a nurturing learning environment where everyone is inspired and able to become a productive, life-long learner. They aim to accomplish this mission through encouragement, authentic and diverse experiences, and varied instruction methods. The school hosts numerous community events and has a robust PTA program. The school also participates in a PBIS program, which stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support. This program places emphasis on school-wide systems of support that include proactive strategies for teaching and supporting appropriate student behaviors in order to build and maintain a positive school environment. Purple Sager believes that teaching these behavior expectations and then rewarding students with a “Purple Ticket” is a more positive approach, rather than waiting for bad behavior to occur and then responding. The Purple Sage Riders embody school spirit, proudly wearing their purple and grey to show support for their home school.

The student teacher ratio is inaccurate. It's up to 25:1 from my son's class in the '21-'22 school year. The teachers were ok, some really good (music) and some meh (TAG).

My child has been at this school for 3 years. This school does not care about the little human beings in their care. Their sole focus is on having classes full of kids who sit perfectly still and silent all day long because they think that will somehow ensure they get great state test scores. They f...

My student attended 1st, 2nd and 3rd here. Getting help for disabilities has been a very slow and painful process. My son developed an anxiety disorder due to the lack of support for disabilities coupled with the stressful season of Covid-19. My concerns were often dismissed by the teacher and admin...

I was shocked by the bad reviews I read about this school so I feel compelled to provide my positive review. My daughter entered Purple Sage two years ago. I think Principal Nelson and her team are excellent. I know of two families of kids with special needs who specifically come to this school beca...

As a parent I was excited for my daughter to start her 5th grade year at a new school. However, my daughter dealt with so much foolishness at this school from her teacher. It was a lot of favoritism going on in the school. My daughter also came home telling me concerning things her teacher would say...
