Renaissance Academy is a private Islamic school offering pre-K through 12th grade in the Wells Branch neighborhood. The school offers challenging academics, a tight-knit community and a commitment to traditional Muslim values.
All students study the Qur’an and learn to read, write and speak Arabic. Daily prayers and special observances take place in the school’s 2,500-square foot prayer hall. Saturdays during Ramadan, the whole community comes together at the school.
Renaissance students are known for their scholarship. They regularly compete in — and win — regional science, history and writing competitions. Each year, first through eighth graders participate in Private School Interscholastic Association (PSIA) events that range from classical music memorization to mathematics tests to storytelling. The campus hosts annual Qur’an competitions, spelling and geography bees.
High school students can take AP and college-level courses. 100% of seniors go on to college after graduation — at top tier schools. Recent grads have been accepted at UC Berkeley and the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin.
When they aren’t hitting the books, Renaissance “Royals” play basketball and soccer. Younger students tumble in Kindergym classes.
Students are active in the community, as well. They organize food drives, charity car washes and recycling programs. Older students tutor younger ones. They volunteer at local mosques.
By the time they graduate, Renaissance Academy students are ready to fulfill the school’s vision that they “play a leading role in American society.”

This school is good if you want your child to be well-educated in Islam. One negative thing about the school is how overcrowded it is in the school, and the school is really small too.

Renaissance Academy is the best at its academics and college readiness, it gives the students proper Islamic values and knowledge by providing them with Islamic studies, Arabic and Quran courses. It also provides the high school with Advanced Placement course to give the high school an all round opportunity like everyone else. If you can I highly recommend enrolling to RA, but be ready to pull up your sleeves and work hard.

The school administration is serious in enforcing safety and disciplinary policies to keep school safe and sound. Kids feel comfortable inside and outside the school. I see teachers monitoring students all the time while they play outside school. Principal conducts security activities to educate students by calling fire marshals and police department.

The teachers are not qualified at all. The school has no sense of care for safety and has a poor environment for learning.

The staff is not acting confidential regarding any incidents in the school. Administration is acting bias for resolving conflicts. Classes are crowded and students are given formal instructions without sufficient flexibility in fun learning and other engaging activities.
