GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I've only been at West High School for a year now, and I have to say that I have really liked my time going there. A lot of people hate on it but I think you just have to find what's right for you (which there are a lot of opportunities for). They have a lot of opportunities for us to get prepared for college and they even have dual enrollment. Overall, I think it's a great school and I've enjoyed my experience in it so far. I can't really say that there has been a "worst" experience for me, I just wish people would stop pulling the fire alarm so often and that the bathrooms were better taken care of. I also really wish the food was better.

When I attended west high school I loved it. I did wish they had more resources for college sign ups and things like that. I didn't have too much support with college.

It was a good high school only thing you would worry about is just the safety and the school ability on hanging situations that happened in and outta school.

If your child is disabled or mentally ill, I would advise against sending them here. The staff care more about controlling and harassing students than providing support, and accommodations for students who's struggle comes from something they cannot control. As for safety, there's fights constantly....

As a former student of West High, I must caution any parent wishing to send their children here especially if your child has special needs of any kind.the staff is lazy and cares more about browbeating students and keeping them under their thumb than they do about actually teaching or fostering a cr...

My experience and my child experience was the worst. She never could get in contact with her counselor, Maria Riveria, because she was always busy. My daughter had to be her own counselor which is sad. I recommend future parents and students to do your research before enrolling your life at this sch...
