Walnut Elementary is a public elementary school in Baldwin Park that opened in 1980. Walnut Elementary offers a Spanish-English dual language program taught in all grades. The California Association of Bilingual Education has previously awarded this dual language program the Seal of Excellence, and students receive education in both languages with the goal of biliteracy. The school hosts several Hispanic heritage cultural events, promoting cultural awareness and celebrating every student. Walnut Elementary has a student council where students in Grades 3-5 have the opportunity to learn leadership and negotiation skills. Through a partnership with Think Together, Walnut Elementary offers after-school programs to meet the needs of working parents and provide additional enrichment in the arts for their children. Virtual and in-person programs are available for students who need help with homework, diversity education and other supplemental learning tools. The school also hosts parenting classes and professional development courses, providing vital resources to the community.

I liked this school at first but then started noticing that this school is not very helpful. Some of th staff members are rude and the kids never go on fieldtrips. I like the parent teacher involvement. The teachers have the best interest at hand for every child. I find it to be a safe and enviroment and extremely hands on.
