GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Woodlawn is an academic strong school. Not so much sports, visual & performing arts. There could be a wider selection of clubs for students as well. The teacher do there best with what they are given as well as administration. Over all it could be better, but every school has its up and downs.

most of the teachers are really good and care about the students a lot. it's a lot of different students so it's cool meeting different people

It was a decent school experience. If you are driven and want to learn you will, but you can also get by without putting much effort in. If you want to succeed in college I suggest taking the Honors, Pre-AP and AP courses, all the regular classes I took I felt like the teachers were babysitting us more than actually trying to teach us anything. Its a decent school, but I wouldn't say it really prepared me for college and I had to learn a lot on my own.

Typical EBR school, too worried about scores and not focused on actual learning.

The staff is more concerned with students being in proper dress code opposed to focusing their attention on things that really matter, suc...

Woodlawn High School has a new principal this year and there has been a bit of staff turn over. I have a child in Gifted and one in "General Population". The Gifted children get a superior education. There are TONS of programs (more than Baton Rouge High) and the teachers are great. The General Popu...
