GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Belfast Area High School was far from diverse and offered very litter opportunities to students who were not engaged in sporting activities. The students focused purely on arts or their academic achievement faced very little support or encouragement as the school was extremely focused on protecting the rights of the athletes and paid little attention to the students who were not engaged in athletics.

I like the schedule set up, I would like to change the level of classes, the time of classes and the lack of technology in the school

My school, teachers, and guidance counselor have help me greatly on my path to college to become a radiology technician. I would love to see future students have a wide range of class options but this would mean a bigger budget to work with. Our budget has been cut down to the bare minimum as much has been eliminated. Also access to college credit class in high school as we have a local college University Maine Hutchinson Center.
