I liked my high school education here, but it was hard to connect with others. It seems to be more of a legacy based institution, where people whose parents went there or donated more money to programs received undue attention. At times, being an outsider was hard.

GSA is a true community school. I like having friends from other countries. I have noticed that they are letting in fewer students from China and accepting more students from other countries like Vietnam and parts of Europe and Africa. this is a great thing for me since I like to travel to other countries in the summer. Now I have friends to visit.

George Stevens is generally a good school. Many of the teachers are a bit wacky, and the school buildings themselves are in need of some repair. However, the classes are effective and I love the attitudes and diversity that we have in the student body here.

We moved to the area two years ago. My son was just going into his junior year. Clearly, a difficult time to move schools. This is when we really started to see George Stevens Academy's magic. His transition was not just easy, but it was motivational. He quickly found the appropriate classes (thanks...

GSA is a bastion of independent thought and academic rigor. I haven't seen any other school with as many honors and AP offerings. They do not stop there as students that have arts or vocational aspirations can also find a home here. The welding and Art programs are professionally staffed. Student di...

GSA needs new leadership. They are financially failing, academically average, and attendance is falling. Trustees and school admin blame everything but the obvious fact they are overstaffed, poorly managed, and losing market share of area students who are increasingly choosing other schools.

GSA has a lot of flaws. I sent my first child here, and after the first semester took her out because I could see that there was a lot of bullying by the students, as well as the adults. My child wasn't feeling challenged in any of the classes. The high school seems to make money over a good educati...
