Collister Elementary School celebrates a 100-year legacy of providing top-quality education to students from pre-kindergarten through the sixth grade. Centrally located in Boise's Collister Neighborhood, the school was commemorated for Dr. George Collister, a pediatrician, founding father, and a leading philanthropist in this community. The school opened in 1911, and by the mid-'50s, the campus was renovated to include more classrooms, a cafeteria, a gymnasium, a library, and an expansive recreation field. Today Collister Elementary school educators strive to develop young learners into responsible, caring students that reach their full potential. The Collister Eagle inspires students to be kind and respectful and work toward academic achievement. Accordingly, the school consistently performs far above the state average in math, reading, and science. Kids love their interactions with the dedicated teaching staff, which includes several STEM-based projects, the annual school carnival, and other themed holiday activities. Similarly, parents appreciate the consistent communication teachers provide and the active parent-teacher organization that oversees fundraising efforts and school events, including the Fall Book Fair. Collister Elementary School's commitment to providing a positive and productive learning environment makes it a signature choice for your child's education.

I moved to Boise from the East Coast, (NYC) and I'm very pleased with the school, the teachers and the way I can interact with other parents about the well-being and education of my children. My children are getting a real education in a caring, safe and beautiful environment we never had in NYC. Th...

The overall rating and reputation of this school far exceeds the quality of educational experience you’ll find here. The counselors are the best part about the school however due to the nature of their job they cannot report incidents to the principal. The principal denies all issues and gossips to...

Our family did not have a positive experience at this school. Our concerns were not listened to at all and we were treated differently throughout our time there. The culture is a bullying culture.

At Collister, you'd be lucky if your child got sent to the Principal's office thanks to Dr. Bell! He really connects with the kids and truly cares about the teachers and staff. Our son's attended since Kinder and from K-4th we can personally vouch for top-notch teachers at Collister who take the tim...
