Belonging to a national network of nonprofit charter schools, Imagine School Lakewood Ranch teaches pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. Faculty and staff aim to achieve the school’s mission of making learning innovative, exciting and fun. Students’ test scores are consistent with state averages, and half of middle school students take advanced STEM courses, like algebra. Extracurricular activities include a Spring Fling carnival and a book fair. To apply for enrollment, a student’s parent or guardian must fill out an interest form. Students are then selected by a random lottery process until all available seats are filled for each grade level. The school has approximately 540 students. While conveniently located close to a major thoroughfare, Imagine School has a picturesque setting among trees and next to a creek. Bus transportation is available along three routes, and the school offers a CARE program before and after school for a daily fee. Uniforms are required, but offer some flexibility and jeans are allowed on Fridays. Imagine School’s vision focuses on developing character and enriching minds so that every student to reaches his or her full potential and discovers the pathways for lifelong success.

My son has excelled at this school. He has been helped and supported in the areas needed. The staff all know his name and care about him. We’re very happy with our experience.

This school was thriving under the old leadership. The new principal is hard to reach, there is high teacher turnover, the school lacks character and feels more like a hospital, and some of the teachers do not support the students with their learning. It is sad to see what has happened to a once qua...

She never even talked to the students parents. Then my elementary school son got physically hit by a middle school stu...
