Located on the corner of Mountain Grove Street and State Street stands the Park City Prep Charter School. Designed and founded by its executive director, Bruce Ravage, the school has a strong focus on mathematics, science and technology. Even the humanities are taught through this lens, with a focus on the history of technological advances and scientific discoveries.
This middle school provides this specialized curriculum to students in fourth through eighth grades and strives to prepare students for success as they enter high school and eventually college. As a charter school, Park City Prep is considered a public school and receives the entirety of its funding from the state of Connecticut. This ensures that the 360 students currently enrolled are able to attend at no cost to them.
The school holds its students to a high standard both in academics and in dress with its well-established dress code and code of conduct. The student-to-teacher ratio of 20-to-1 and specialized curriculum have elevated the math and reading proficiency of the students to higher than many other schools in the Bridgeport area; in fact, Park City Prep is rated as one of the top five charter schools in the state.
