GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I believe that the counselors need to be better prepared for students who are wishing to attend a college that is not in West Virginia. I believe that the county needs to be more flexible to compensate for transfer students schedules and take the time to make sure that all their credits are applied accordingly. Overall though this is a very tight knit school and once you are on their radar they are more accepting but still hold a grudge if you are not born and raised in West Virginia.

My biggest concern as an African American student is the lack of cultural diversity. I want to blend in with the other student in the school and perform well in my classes and participate in school activities and sports. It is just sometime difficult to get past the lack of diversity. It's a function of the City of Bridgeport rather than the school itself. I have great relationships with teachers and faculty but sometimes I worry about my siblings as they reach the high school level and the challenges that they will face.

Tremendous school. Great students and parents. Teachers and administration seem to truly care about the students. Academic and extracurricular activities are among (often 'the" best) the best in the state. Outstanding community support for the school. The facilities are well maintained. It seems the...

Very Disapointed. We moved to Bridgeport mostly due to the school's reputation. However our experience is that the student's deserve the credit more than the school does. Houses cost as much as 20% more in Bridgport, mostly due to the school, yet I don't see where that money makes its way to the sch...
