A. Fantis School is a private school set between Brooklyn Heights and Downtown Brooklyn, serving around 190 students in prekindergarten through eighth grade. The school uses the guiding principles of faith, service and love to guide its students and strengthen their character. It hopes to create a second home for the student body through the friendships they encourage between them and the faculty.
Keeping in line with A. Fantis’ Greek influence, the school places a heavy emphasis on religious studies, with Hellenic Studies giving students the chance to learn about “The Odyssey” and ancient Greek technology together. The school centers its curriculum around the Socratic Method. This educational philosophy is based on encouraging dialogue between the students and teachers. Through this model, A. Fantis seeks to replicate academic curiosity and character of Greece in classical antiquity.
The school encourages interested parents and students to attend an open house before applying to learn about the school and understand what it stands for.

The school provides rigorous curriculum, a warm and accepting school community and promotes joy daily. The Staff and leadership are extremely supportive. The families are beyond generous with their time, resources and graciousness. I love coming to work every day.
