GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Throughout my 4 years in this high school, my high school experience was pretty good. I was able to make great friends with many different graders and teachers/faculty. This school in my opinion is good at making connections, but sometimes it can be a bit crazy, but it's still a good school to learn and have fun.

I stood here from 6th grade to 12 grade. This school has changed a lot and it changed a lot of myself. Issues I remember was that if one class year did something for a senior trip then the other class years would pay for it. For example let's say the class of 2022 had one student leave their hotel room at night at a 1 week senior trip, then when it's the class of 2023 or 2024's turn for a senior trip, they would be told that their senior trip would only be 1-2 days long as a result of what one person from class 2023 did.

I have been in this school since the 6th grade and when they first brought in middle school and from day one my experience in this school has been nothing but the best. The teachers are very well educated and explains the assignments in every way they can to help the students understand it more. Of course not every school is perfect, even my school isn't perfect but I don't think it a bad school. It only has a few flaws but want school doesn't. My school is diverse, welcomes in the LGBQT community and has many clubs and activities that the students can really join. Even though the location of the school isn't a good area , and the safety staff looks out for the students well being every second, I wouldn't transfer to any other high school because Academy For Young Writers made me who I am today and help all of my fellow peers get to where they are now.
