P.S. 8 The Emily Warren Roebling School is a kindergarten through 6th grade public elementary school serving Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn. The District 13 school offers a small environment with only 605 students enrolled in the 2020-2021 school year. Curriculum includes traditional academics like mathematics, science, social studies, and English Language Arts, but also includes a strong arts program. The school has weekly dance, drama, music, art, physical education, and library classes, all taught by specialist teachers. The school also has partnered with the Guggenehim Museum and Treasure Trunk in the past. Students can also participate in the Gardening Committee to have more hands-on experience with urban gardening, healthy eating habits, and how sustainable living can be attained even in the city. This elementary school also offers an afterschool program called Kids Cre8, and includes many after school clubs such as chess, LEGO creations, yoga, and ballet - among many others! Located on Hicks Street between Poplar and Middagh Streets, The Emily Roebling School is easily accessed by the High Street A and C train stop, and the bus stop at Henry Street and Old Fulton Street.

Poor communication with parents. You can email and call for weeks and even months and still not receive anything approaching an adequate response.

This school is the best school i could ask for. A great teacher and the PTA is so involved, i love it. Keep up the great work.

The best intentions for starting a middle school... Not enough PS8 students decided to attend so the open seats got filled by troubled students, some expelled from other schools. I don't think they were prepared for the behaviorial issues. My daughter is very smart but they are not prepared for adva...
