GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I really loved the community feel of Buford. They call our student body the 'Buford Family' and it truly did feel like a family.

Buford High School excels in athletics, academics, and the arts. The faculty is amazing as well. My one complaint would be the lack of computer science or hands-on (like welding or mechanic) classes.

Best: the emphasis on academics helped my applications for college and they prepared me for college Worse: the sometimes lack of initiative for handling student's problems. Overall. I liked it mainly for academic purposes but something they could improve on is being more open to student's problems and concerns.

this school does not care about its students unless they are athletes or on the honor roll. they make so many children feel like idiots and it was an awful thing to experience. I dealt with bullying for years that was overlooked by everyone.

We started in this school system when my student was in 1st grade. Loved the community feel, the environment and the teachers. As the school got bigger, the luster of it started to fade. It became less about the student achievement and more about the athletic achievements. Grades were posted and sha...

The school focuses on white upper middle class kids. There are no supports for any kid that is different. Instruction is lectures and quizzes and tests. Kids have to do all the work themselves to get help if they struggle at all. Teachers are nice but inflexible. Standards and expectations are diffe...
