Thomas Edison Elementary School, named after the famous American Inventor, is a public school serving students in kindergarten through fifth grade and part of the Burbank Unified School District. Named the Edison Chargers, with their appropriately themed mascot being a lightbulb, their motto reads: "The brightest school in Town". Located on Chestnut Street in the Chandler Park zone, Thomas Edison is home to 23 teachers and 560 students with the average class size not exceeding 30. There are several after school programs for children in addition to the Armenian Language and Culture program. For those looking to explore their athletic side, Burroughs High Cheerleaders host a mini camp for young aspiring cheerleaders during the fall. Thomas Edison Elementary also provides social emotional learning through weekly coaching and activities in classrooms with their At-Risk Intervention Specialist. There are many special learning opportunities available such as English Language Development, Gifted and Talented Education, Special Education programs, Student Council, and many more. The Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) is an organization for furthering education of gifted students. Thomas Edison students are eligible for the GATE program at the end of third grade. Bad school, the system doesn't care about your well-being or mental health. I can say from experience. I was a victim of being bullied at this school and the teachers I had didn't care, they knew I was getting bullied but they did no action whatsoever.

Read some of the comments about the principal and I have to strongly disagree. She cares about the students and is very involved. I have gone to school many time and have seen her involved with the students. If her car is not parked at the facility is because she also has breaks people..My son gradu...

The teachers and students at this school are amazing. The principal is very welcoming and when I ask the classroom teachers if they love their job, they all say yes! It's nice to know that the attitude of the people spending so much time with children is positive as I believe that carries over towar...

I cannot believe that there are not more reviews stated how hands off and barely competent the principal is. It's a shame, because the teachers are wonderful, so wonderful that the principal's incompetence is hidden.
