GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Very cliquey. Teachers are great but are often overwhelmed by behavior problems. Students are often very rude to other students yet tend to suck up to teachers.

What I am fond of at Burlington Community High School is the great relationship between the students and the teachers there. The teachers truly want what is best for the kids, and that is accurately portrayed by the wide range of clubs and activities. However, one thing I would like to see changed is parent involvement in the school. Although Burlington High School makes an appreciated effort to involve the parents in their students' decisions, I feel as though it can increase.

I enjoyed that the staff did everything they could to keep students in school. They prepared students for college very well and some teachers would even stay past 5 o'clock to help students understand the material, or prepare for state club events.

BHS has pre-engineering classes known as Project Lead the Way. My son is able to take classes and earn college credit. The teacher who teaches Principles of Engineering is perhaps the finest teacher in the nation!

BHS has great teachers where students are prepared for college. Students are able to take advanced AP classes. Students with disabilities also receive the support and help needed. Students have many choices of clubs and even classes that other smaller districts would not offer. Many students come to...
