The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

It's my senior year and I've been involved in the district through thick and thin all these years. I have a deep connection with my teachers and am involved in almost everything. I think CDHS is a good school with encouraging teachers and a phenomenal music program. There are tons of clubs and activities to get involved in and plenty of staff to help you out. We're also nearing the end of our big construction project so most of the school is brand new. Overall, I'm proud to come from Cairo-Durham.

The teachers are great and are very understanding. The academics are perfect but are very good. Small community of loving people.

This school isn't what the staff tries to make it. The teachers within the school don't give good instruction, and it seems the teachers do not care about teaching to make the students smart, or making the students feel motivated to study. The sports teams aren't worth joining either.

This school is terrible. The teachers are good but they wont own up to their own mistakes, and blame all their problems on the kids. its always the kids fault, because teachers refuse to take initiative and lead the class. This place just sucks. Period.

For someone of color growing up in this high school was not a healthy environment. A lot of the staff never really seemed to care for their students. Bullying was a huge issue on top of that. Their handle of students were sometimes quite questionable.

I recently attended my siblings graduation from this school, and during the ceremony the principal bragged about achieving a graduation rate of over 85%, what he didn't mention were the corners cut in order to reach that figure. When I was at this school, the district had a policy known as "circle 5...
