GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

The best part of Cary High School is the way it makes me feel as a student. There is a great sense of community within our school and I feel proud to be a part of that. The worst part is how old some buildings are and there is graffiti on our football field by the bleachers. I would love to see Cary High School make some renovations and clean up our football field!

The faculty and staff were fantastic—great teachers understanding student differences and needs. The curriculum was good, and the teacher went above and beyond to help students understand the content. School buildings were somewhat old and rundown, especially the 300 and 400 buildings. The campus is open and nice to walk around on. They allowed us to go off-campus for lunch, which was a nice added freedom for the students.

Honestly, overall I love my school. Mainly for the teachers. My teachers have always been there for me post finishing their class. I always have someone to talk to or seek advice from when I need it. I also never felt like an outsider because we have a lot of nice people willing to help you.

I have had 3 kids go through Cary High, and all of them liked being there and felt supported. My kids aren't crazy about school in general (not many kids are) but they all found clubs and activities to participate in and get involved. Cary High is probably the most diverse high school in town and I...

Horrible school. They test students on a daily basis without giving students enough time to have mastered it. They also don't teach and we parents have to do the teaching for them. And other students flunk. They go over on the allowed time for homework per class and each day. Many times they have ho...

I had the opportunity to transfer to another school after my sophomore year, but I did not take it. I wish I would have, as this school became the reason I no longer have a passion for music.
