Cayce Elementary is known for its community-oriented programs and academic instruction. One of these programs is the safety patrol, which trains older students as safety patrol officers who welcome students to school each morning. Another unique program at Cayce Elementary is the "Griffin Guides" program that pairs older and younger students together to develop peer mentoring relationships to build bonds between students. Both programs help all students feel valued and safe. Cayce Elementary is a part of the University of South Carolina's Professional Development System, which invites extra staff and directs resources to Cayce. Cayce Elementary is an exemplary model of a school committed to developing its students into community leaders.
