GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

There is a lack of support for that arts at this school. Capital High School is a school of the arts and receives very little funding and little support from administration. The number of bathrooms open are limited. Some of the reason for that is because of people being caught smoking in the bathrooms. There is also a lack of safety for students and teachers when fights break out. I have enjoyed my 4 years at Capital. There have been numerous opportunities to advance for Honors and college classes. Show choir has been the highlight of my years at Capital high school. I am a 4-year member of the Capital High School VIPs. I also got voted President of the VIPs and also my Senior class. I have enjoyed performing at Capital and going to different schools inside and outside that county to perform. I feel that I have grown as a person and as a performer. I have been very fortunate to have some of the best teachers during my 4 years at Capital. I am looking forward to my next adventure.

I had an interesting but great experience at CHS. The faculty was helpful and many amazing teachers work here. The school dynamic was pretty typical, but the student council became way more involved this year, which I really enjoyed. We brought lots of school spirit to the table and I enjoyed my classes.

I would like to see Capital High School be more inclusive for all. As a legally blind individual I feel like some of the faculty understand the needs for disability accommodations but some could educate themselves more. This way students are being given the opportunity to an even academic playing field with their peers.

Capitol High is a dump! The teachers and the administrators are failing the kids while the collect their pay checks every week. Some of the staff should be tested for drug abuse. The school is depressing and disorganized. It's hard to move from out of state and tolerate inadequate function of a scho...

This school could be relatively decent but there are so many issues people ignore. For instance, teacher absences. A teacher I had this year just took it upon themselves to show up whenever they felt like it. (They missed approximately 15+ days of school. Excluding when they decided to walk out and...

This school and Vice Principal Cruikshank in particular show a complete lack of concern about bullying and have swept issues under the rug. Total disregard for zero tolerance
