GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Hoosac Valley is a small-knit community, where everyone knows everyone. The high-school has great teachers, as well as a few that aren't so great. Administration has a similar mix of great and not so great people. Sports do relatively well for the size of the school, and the school runs good organizations. Unfortunately, the school doesn't do a great job at preparing students for the rigors of college academics.

Great high school. The teachers and community really support us. We have very good academics and athletic support. The teachers constantly have training in order to make their classes better.

My time at that high school was pretty horrible. This school is definitely not safe I saw kids multiple times bring in a knife and show it, in 2016 a student bring a gun 2 school and he still allow 2 go 2 school. The teacher and kids r rank by social status race and disabilities 4 example my physics teacher can miss 70 days a year and only care about the jocks until he had 20 report this year and wasn't fired, if u are a stoner or a alcoholic u may b put higher then the other kids below u and have some friends and have a really fun high school life bc this school is all about drugs, if u r a jock and very cute u don't has 2 do that many drugs 2 become the top kid, u r allowed 2 join any sports u want or club or b showing in example or demonstration bc u cute. Having a disability in this school is worse thing that can happen 2 u, u single out so bad it like a mental hospital inside a highschool, the only way out is smoking weed or drinking, if u plan on enrolling here I advise u not 2

This was terrible. I haven't ever been to a possibly worse school. This school puts utterly no effort into anything and the bullying problem is atrocious. I can currently see why this school had a 2.4 rating beacuse i have barely learned anything from this experience other than how to avoid current...

This school has some amazing teachers but there isn't enough good teachers to justify it. I have had many bad experiences with this place. I have had teachers who were bullies and just rude. There is lots of favoritism in the sporty people and the "popular kids". The school tells everyone that they...

Just judging the general illiteracy of the comments I know this school has failed in its mission.

When I went to this school, it was falling apart. Leaks in the ceiling, falling parts of the ceiling, broken windows from troublesome students. They have seen done a complete remodel for the school. This is a town school. There is a sense of community with it that you will not receive in bigger city...
