Located at 1630 W. Barry Ave., Augustus H. Burley Elementary School serves pre-kindergarten through eighth grade students as Chicago's first literature, writing and technology Magnet Cluster School. Students at Burley Elementary demonstrate high test scores and levels of academic performance, as an incredible 67% of Burley Elementary students are proficient in English and 60% are proficient in math. Burley's curriculum is built around "quality literature, meaningful inquiry, and purposeful technology." Terrific curriculum (heavy on reading comprehension and writing), solid STEAM, and a very active parent organization that works well with the teachers and school administration.
