The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I have had a good experience at Chicago Academy so far. I like how the environment is at Chicago Academy better than it was at my old school because it truly feels like I am a part of the community. You are also able to form relationships with your teacher because it is a smaller school. The teachers are also very supportive and are always trying to help students when they fall behind. We have SEL breaks that help us regain our focus. Our seminar classes are a big help because they keep us on track with application deadlines and let us explore different careers through research. There are enough clubs in the school and other after-school activities available. Overall there are a lot of opportunities for us to be involved in the school. Since it is a smaller school there is not a big variety of classes available but there are enough AP classes available for students who want to take them. There is a lot of diversity in the faculty and students with makes me feel more comfortable.

Growing up my whole life I have always disliked school because of a lot of reasons. But struggling with the visual snow it was hard to do a lot of tasks in school and it was very hard to get help because it was a condition that nobody knew a A lot of back then. You can put it struggled throughout my entire high school years it's always fun to have a school that and a lot of diversity and awesome teachers. A lot of teachers truly cared about their students and had a lot of experience with teaching. My overall experience with Chicago Academy was decent. School always reminded me of my condition and that's why I always look at schools in negative thing. But when you look at the bigger picture it made be good friends and it helped me grow as a person.

I had two nephews and one niece that went to this school, and they graduated with honors. They said they are a little strict but that is to keep the school straight and they want the students to do great because they are preparing them for college. That is what we want for our children. If we needed...

This is a good school. There is hardly any violence here. Not really any gang activity. It's pretty peaceful. It does come up short when being compare to the "big shot" such as lane, walter payton, young, and nothside prep. But the class room sizes are smaller, so the kids get more attention. each s...
