The James and Jean Stewart Campus of the Christopher House system is an elementary charter school that was opened in 2013. The campus serves children through various programs, as well as offering special services to parents of students. The campus offers a traditional school day to elementary students in kindergarten through third grade, with a flexible curriculum that is adaptable to students’ different academic strengths and learning styles. Students are regularly consulted about goal-setting and pacing for individual learning. The school uses data-tracking to ensure students are getting the best education possible. The James and Jean Stewart Campus offers a variety of services it calls Parent School. Every parent of a student in any of the campus’ programs can access social workers, family advocates, career guidance, counseling, a food pantry and one-time emergency aid funds. Admission is open to all residents of Chicago. If the campus receives more applications than seats available, siblings of enrolled students are given preference. A blind lottery will then be held to fill the remaining seats.

This school is a great school. From day one my children have felt welcomed and the teachers are approachable. The teachers actually know how to teach kids and help them progress. This school also strives to support the socio emotional well being of all children. I highly recommend this school.
