Behind a gated entrance and dignified brick building, the Eugene Field Elementary School serves the neighborhood of Rogers Park with a public-school curriculum for fifth through eighth-grade students at 7019 North Ashland Boulevard. Eugene Field Elementary strives to empower every student to become successful through a "high quality, culturally responsive education," that is personalized. Enrolling almost 150 students, Eugene Field Elementary is part of the Chicago Public School District and was honored with a 2012 Illinois Academic Excellence Award for "sustaining very high academic performance over time." Offering children an extensive lineup of before- and after-school programming, Eugene Field Elementary supports students with chess, painting, Spanish, math and drama clubs as well as leadership opportunities and tutoring for students struggling academically. Eugene Field Elementary also provides students with outstanding amenities including a performance auditorium, gymnasium with climbing wall and a "Space to Grow" schoolyard where students enjoy a state-of-the-art running track and an outdoor classroom equipped with game tables and a native garden. The recipient of a five-year Community Schools Initiative grant, each year Eugene Field Elementary uses funds to advance students' college and career readiness with programs supported by Loyola University. Working to launch students into higher education, Eugene Field Elementary reminds students that "college is our mission."

While some parents may lament the fact that Eugene Field is a small low -enrollment school, we see it as an opportunity to be more involved and hands-on. My daughter been with New Field until 4th grade and its been great,untill she's in EUGINE Field.
