Named after Sarah Elisabeth Goode, a former slave and 19th-century inventor, the Goode STEM Academy offers students a world-class education that prepares them for the technological jobs of the future. Serving grades 9 through 12, Goode STEM Academy seeks to build a learning culture that nurtures creativity and sparks imagination. One of Chicago Public Schools' Early College STEM Schools, Goode connects high school students to college learning for a seamless transition. Goode hosts collaborative programs with both IBM and Daley College, allowing students to learn job skills and earn college credit while still in high school. Graduates of Goode Academy often go on, after college, to successful careers in fields like software development and mechanical engineering. With an emphasis on science, technology, engineering and math, students experience a well-rounded curriculum, as well as numerous opportunities for extracurricular activities. Competitive sports include baseball, football, coed softball and basketball. Events include the annual STEM Fest, which highlights projects created by students in all grades. Parents are encouraged to join the Parent Advisory Council, a virtual and in-person community dedicated to helping parents become an integral part of their student’s education.

It's a cool school a lot of fights happen over stupid stuff but it's high school so you can't really expect kids to do what they're supposed since they think they can do whatever they want.

The best part about Sarah e Goode was the support I received in my 4 years of high-school. Wether it was a personal or school related; the staff at Sarah E Good always supported. A bad moment; at least for me were probably the challenging coding clases. They really put you at a college level and prepare you for the next step. A couple things I would like to see change is probably the culture at Sarah E Goode and I know it is a STEM school but they could have a more creative side to them. After my four years there I'm really glad I made the choice to attend Sarah E Goode.

It's a great school overall we have excellent opportunities for 10th-12th graders to start taking early college classes to earn college credits while in high-school we can only do this because my school is one of the five schools CPS Early College because were partnered with Richard J Daley. We have the opportunity to graduate with our Associates degree along with your high-school diploma. The great thing about this is that it is free of cost. We are also partnered with IBM which gives us the opportunity to do either summer internships or year-long internships once you're a junior or senior. Our school main focus is S.T.E.M which stands for Science Technology Engineering and Math. The teachers make sure we are career ready by the time we graduate and they push all of us to have a growth mindset. Overall great experience.
