GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

We can't have our phones and sometimes it's hard to talk to staff when I use to calling my mom for help. I would like for the school to change how they treat the kids. All kids are not the same.

Students should be given more self-expression and should be allowed to wear jackets. Boys and Girls shouldn't be separated at lunch. Students should be allowed to have phones. Students should have to stand for 1 hour if they were a minute late to class.

I enjoyed being a Thunder Birds. I liked being around teachers who care and want to see their students succeed.

I have a special needs son who was assigned to this school by CPS Office of Diverse Learners. He has been physically abused by at least 2 different CPS aids. They were made aware of both incidents and nothing was done.

For so many under represented black youths in Chicago, Hyde Park is one of many schools that accepts them no matter what there background is. It may not be always a good thing, but it gives them a chance - which is something we deserve. I graduated 2012 and I am proud to be a Hyde Parker. The school...

as a parent of an IB student I must say that I am umimpressed. Academically it could be more challenging. Administration leaves a lot to be desired. No one ever returns phone calls, but will call you about the most unimportant things. Things I should know I don't until after the fact. I hope this sc...

I am a proud graduate of Hype Park Academy s class of 2010. I transferred to Hyde Park my senior year and it was completely different from what I was used to. Despite the difference I had an amazing time, the students were great, the teachers were great and the staff were great. HP is not perfect an...
