Lycée Francais de Chicago is a private school that serves about 800 students from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade.
The school features a bilingual and bi-cultural education, with curriculum approved by France’s National Center for Distance Education. High school students can choose between achieving a French Baccalaureate, which is similar to a high school diploma in the United States, or an International Baccalaureate Diploma.
Lycée focuses on providing students with cultural diversity and foreign language immersion to help improve cognitive and creative skills.
Beyond the core curriculum, Lycée offers enrichment programs for students. This can include class trips out of state starting in second grade, while fifth grade students can participate in an annual trip to a French-speaking country. Tenth grade students can participate in a trimester exchange with students in Spain, China or Germany. Every other year Lycée invites an artist-in-residence to lead students in designing an art exhibit.
Extracurricular activities include student council, babysitting club, board game club and a relaxation club. Athletics offered include basketball, golf, gymnastics, soccer, swimming, tennis, volleyball and much more.

The best part of the Lycee are the wonderful families, supportive administrators and forward thinking board of trustees. It's wonderful to be a part of a French school in the middle of a safe neighborhood in Chicago. It's a special place.

The IB program in the high school is wonderful. The coordinator is excellent and is there to support students and families. The teachers are very caring and help foster an engaging, enriching academic experience. The visual arts program is also excellent.
