The Moving Everest Charter School strives to bring positivity every child’s educational experience with colorful and spacious classrooms, broad hallways, lighted atriums and an outstanding staff of teachers at the school’s campus on North Laramie Avenue. Enrolling over 600 kindergarten through eighth grade students, Moving Everest serves the neighborhood of Austin with a dynamic academic program that offers a holistic approach to the educational development and specific needs of each child. Fostering an environment of high expectations, the Moving Everest Charter School works to see their graduates accepted into their top three high school picks. Moving Everest utilizes a learning model composed of one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions that enhance student progress and engagement. Moving Everest's teachers emphasize literacy through an intensive reading program that develops a love for knowledge and excellent reading, writing and communication skills. Every classroom at Moving Everest Charter School is equipped with either iPads or Chromebooks, and technology-based learning takes place in the school’s three computer labs and two dedicated STEM labs. The school also provides fun and enriching after-school programming and child care services to the Austin community.
