GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Overall my freshman year was pretty good. It lives up to it's name. The school isn't too large but has long passing periods. The schedule is more flexible for students. Only 3 classes and a half block a day. I think it's really nice that they did that especially because the classes are difficult. On Wednesdays, instead of a normal schedule there is a flex block schedule. We can make up homework on that day. I would recommend people to register.

It's overall good. The math department is horrendous, headed by a teacher who just doesn't care about the students unless she likes you. The math department also gives out an absolutely obscene amount of homework every single class; it's toeing the line of breaking the Geneva Convention because the amount of time they expect you to sink into math class alone is a borderline war crime. To sum it up, I and many other students hate most of the math teachers. But the rest is good :).

Northside College Prep is a school for the "smart people." We are often challenged everyday with our academic work.

I went here for one year and then transferred out to a normal suburban public school. It is good for a CPS school, however, I found the environment too competitive for no reason and the staff uncaring. The math program is awful and overall, the teachers at the public school I transferred to were muc...

My daughter graduated from this school in 2020. I watched a stressed out and deflated human trying to keep up with the rigorous, exhausting, and competitive environment at her elementary school options program turn into an extremely intelligent and happy young girl at NCP. She totally "clicked" with...

My child transferred from a very expensive private school to NCP this year. I have to say that I feel like I have wasted thousands of dollars if there are elementary schools like NCP in CPS. NCP feels like a private school. It has a beautiful campus, superb teaching staff, private tutors, and childr...

My daughter is a freshman and absolutely loves it here. It's a very open and creative environment. The kids definitely get the chance to express themselves, but never overboard. I was initially concerned that my daughter would have trouble adjusting as she comes from a catholic school environment. B...
