St John Berchmans School is a private Catholic school serving the Logan Square community in Chicago and pre-kindergarten through eighth grade at 2511 W Logan Blvd. St. John Berchmans first opened its doors to only 67 students in 1907. Today, the elementary school enrolls approximately 251 students who enjoy a student-to-teacher ratio of 15-to-1.
Offering a rigorous and innovative curriculum, faith-based educators at the St John Berchmans School strive to develop the whole child into a confident and disciplined adult. A challenging academic program supplemented by studies in music, art and languages prepares children for success at the college prep level. Returning higher test scores than other schools in the Logan Square district, students at St John Berchmans School benefit from teaching that fosters academic growth from an early age.
Children's classroom experiences are enhanced with religious studies, community worship and prayer. Athletic programs at St John Berchmans School include girls’ and boys’ junior varsity and varsity basketball and junior varsity and varsity volleyball.

We looked all over the city of Chicago to find the right fit for our family and wow did we find it at St. John Berchmans (SJB). The commitment to academic excellence, the focus on developing the "whole child", mind , body and spirt, and the incredible community of staff and parents are what make SJB the best school we could have found for our kids (and us;)). If you live in or around Logan Square, I strongly encourage you to check out SJB.

The support my son received at this school came at a crucial time for our family. We were guided and provided with the help we needed. The strong sense of safety and organization at the school is especially valuable to me as a single mother.

I’ve had two of my children attend SJB, one who is still a student. Both have been challenged and nurtured in this school environment and both absolutely love the school and the teachers. As a family, we are completely satisfied.
